Basic Life Support(BLS) Certification
Course Description
This classroom-based course assist healthcare professionals learn to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Nursing Bridges Institute training site and Basic life support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course is approved by the American Heart Association.
Enrollment Criteria
Students are expected to enroll at least one week before the class. Books are to be purchased separately. Classes are open to all healthcare professionals, daycare workers, workers in the restaurant industry and any individual interested in learning how to respond in times of medical agency.
Prerequisite(s)
Students are expected to purchase the BLS for HCP Student Manual (90-2800US 2010 International Version English) (IVE)
Required Material
Nursing Bridges Institute training site and Basic life support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course is approved by the American Heart Association.
Program Completion Requirements
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card is valid for two years.
Students must attend class, and complete the didactic component, pass the written examination and hands-on lab practice in order to obtain certification card.
In the classroom, students are expected to participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students must also complete a written exam. Students who are not successful in the skills and written exam will be given one more chance to retake the test. After retaking the test and still unsuccessful, the student will have to reschedule for another class and pay a new fee.
Course Duration
One day. Students are expected to spend at least four to six hours of independent studies on case studies and research activities accompanying this course prior to taking the class.
